Kasama traders stumble upon lifeless body


MUSENGA community leaders in Kasama District , Northern Province have expressed concern about the rise in crime after a man was discovered dead, ditched in a drainage.

In the early hours of Wednesday, a group of traders in Kasama were given a shock of their lives as they discovered a lifeless body in the drainage while they made haste in the morning for their orders.

Radio Mano reports that the lifeless body lying in the gutter was 45-year-old, Patrick Chikwanda, from Musenga Township in Kasama District.

According to reports, Chikwanda left home around 20:00 hours on Tuesday and never returned only to be discovered dead in a drainage near Musenga School.

Police commanding officer In Northern Province, Lucky Munkondya confirmed the body was discovered at 06:30 hours in a drainage.

“An Inquiry file has been opened and investigations have been instituted,” revealed Munkondya.

Residents have since called for increased police patrols in the area.
