A POTENTIAL disaster has been avoided near Misisi Compound in Lusaka when a Howo truck narrowly avoided colliding with a Zambia Railways Goods Train today.
The incident, which occurred around 14:30 hours, saw a truck driver, operating vehicle BCD 3403 and BCFT 3113, fail to yield to the oncoming train that had right of way.
According to a statement by Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale, the train was heading south while the truck was traveling east from Misisi Compound towards Kamwala South.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported on either the train or the truck.
