CHILILABOMBWE Member of Parliament (MP) Paul Kabuswe just hit the gas on empowering cooperatives, handing over a fleet of nine brand new vehicles like shiny keys to a brighter future.

These lucky co-ops have benefited from a pilot programme fueled by the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), and they are about to shift gears in income generation.

Fueled by President Hakainde Hichilema’s vision of putting development decisions in local hands, the CDF’s engine now has a youth and women empowerment booster.

Therefore, Kabuswe and the CDF committee stepped on the pedal to empower young drivers.

In a statement issued by Kabuswe’s press aide, Kachinga Chinula the MP who is also Mines minister urged taxi operators not to take a backseat but partake in such kind of development.

He said more drivers should apply for empowerment.

“Taxi drivers across the district have been crying to government to put deliberate policies to empowerment them and we are confident as a constituency office that the much needed empowerment has arrived and is arriving in all sectors,” Chinula stated.
