FIVE months after using a Seventh Day Adventist Church camp site as a venue to do the unthinkable with his 14-year old niece, a 29-year man of Pemba District in Southern Province has gone on the run after the girl’s stomach ballooned from the hymns he sang into her.
It has been reported that the suspect had defiled his elder brother’s daughter on two occasions last August.
The first was when he dragged her in a nearby bush after bumping into her as she was coming from a school sports event while the second time was at a camp meeting in Kasiya which he and victim both attended as members of the Kanchomba Seventh Day Adventist Church.
It has been reported that after finding her alone in a camp shelter, the man again took her to a nearby bush and for activities completed contrary to the church camp agenda.
The girl then kept the matter under wraps until her swelling stomach gave away the secret which upon interrogation revealed the culprit behind her motherly way.
Southern Province deputy police commanding officer, Moono Namalongo who confirmed the incident said upon receiving the information of the incident from the victims father, the suspect bolted has been nowhere to be found.
“A medical report was issued and a manhunt has been launched as the suspect is currently on the run,” said Namalongo.
