South African tourist dies at Devil’s pool

A FUN morning has ended in sorrow for a South African Family that was on a tourism expedition at the Devil’s Pool in Livingstone after their beloved died following their visit to the site.

According to Byta FM, 58 year old Krishna Chinnasamy together with his wife and 21-year-old daughter were touring the Zambian side of the Victoria falls after coming from Zimbabwe’s Rainbow Hotel.

Around 08:35 hours on Wednesday, the family started their tour at the Devil’s pool, but unknown to them, death was also lurking.

After the family reached the site, they safely swam and enjoyed the thrill that came with the natural wonder of the Victoria falls.

As they were heading back crossing a little channel part of the Zambezi River, Chinnasamy had a sudden convulsion which led to his death.

Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka, confirmed the incident to Byta FM.

Daka said a Tour Guide, identified as Kelvin Mtonga along with other more guides tried to help him and offered C.P.R to resuscitate him, but their efforts were in vain, as the victim had already passed.

He added that the deceased was later rushed to Livingstone Central Hospital where he was officially pronounced dead.
