A 33 year old woman of Lusaka’s Woodlands has become the latest victim to have lost her life from a fatal car accident.
It is reported that Faith Mukeyo died on the spot while a passenger she was carrying in the vehicle is currently nursing serious injuries from the accident.
According to Zambia Police, Mukeyo lost control of the Toyota Rav 4 she was driving which went to hit into a wall fence and later plunged into a drainage due to excessive speed.
The vehicle baring registration number 4499 was extensively damaged.
Zambia Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga confirmed through a statement that the accident occurred around 03:00 hours along Los Angeles Road in Longacres today.
He identified the survivor as Mazuba Hankuku aged 41 of plot number 24388 Libala South, “who sustained a swollen left eye and neck, dislocated right hand, cuts on both hands and general body pains.”
Hamoonga said Hankuku is admitted to the University Teaching Hospital.
