Following President Hakainde Hichilema’s directive to sale the luxurious VX vehicles driven by government officials as a cost cutting measure, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics has surrendered 14 Toyota VX vehicles.
Last week, Cabinet Office issued a circular directing government officials to surrender their VX vehicles by May 3
Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa confirmed during tye Sunday Interview on ZNBC that the Ministry of transports and Logistics came up with 14 VX vehicles.
“They have come up with 24 vehicles and they have since written to my office. My office will be looking at them to confirm [and] verifying…. And answer the question… How did they come in when there was a presidential directive, Kangwa said.
“We will be able to confirm what transpired and we will let the public know,” said Kangwa.
“And anyone who’s found wanting will face appropriate disciplinary actions.
Disobeying an instruction by the Head of State is a very very serious lapse, especially at our level.”
