13 community projects for Mwansabombwe town council in Luapula Province have been approved for implementation, under the 2023 Constituency Development Fund (CDF), by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
This year’s CDF per constituency is K28.3, compared to last year’s K25.7 million.
According to Mwansabombwe town council public relations officer Glenda Nachinga, the 13 approved projects are valued at a total cost of K15, 331,978.
She named the community projects approved as
1. procurement of desks for the whole district, 2. purchase of an ambulance, 3. purchase of a vehicle for the Zambia Police, 4. chief’s palace rehabilitation, under tourism, 5. construction of a maternity annex at Kapesa clinic and 6. procurement of a Tractor Loader Backerhoe (TLB).
Others are the 7. procurement of a roller compactor, 8. construction of a 1 by 2 classroom block at Lubansa Primary School, 9. construction of a 1 by 3 classroom block, ablution block, installation of 10, 000 litres water tank at Kasao Primary School and procurement of 69 desks, 10. construction of a rural health post and drilling of a borehole at Chokwe in Kabalenge, 11. rehabilitation of a toilet and water system for a male ward at Mbereshi Mission Hospital, 12. electrification of government infrastructure and 13. construction of a 1 by 3 classroom block at Chipita Primary School and procurement of 69 desks.
Nachinga stated that the identification of the aforementioned community projects was done in accordance with the CDF guidelines.
