DEFENCE and security chiefs today visited Kasumbalesa border post in Chililabombwe to check on the security situation at the border and surrounding areas.
According to Zambia Police Service deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale, the defence and security chiefs were welcomed by Copperbelt Province minister Elisha Matambo.
The defence and security chiefs, according to Matambo, are scheduled to tour Mokamba border post in Mufulira and Sakanya border post in Ndola.
Meanwhile, Matambo said the issue of the artificial shortage of mealie meal is “totally under control.”
“The President is trying to do his best by sending even the security wings to try and see what is on the ground around the border. Our people should have mealie meal available and affordable,” said Matambo.
