THE story in which a 19-year old University of Zambia student reported to have been raped a by a stranger who abducted her from Great East Road Campus last night has taken a new twist.
According to an earlier report, the student claimed she and her colleague had been offered lift by stranger after attending classes last evening.
But once on the vehicle, she found three men who instead of driving to her boarding house in Mashlands sped off to S.O.S area where “rapists” booked a room and raped her.
But under intense police interrogation, the UNZA momma has revealed that she had been communicating with the “rapist” via Facebook and agreed to meet for the first time yesterday.
“The 19-year-old victim has revealed to Police during interrogations that she has been communicating with the ‘suspect’ on Facebook but they never met until the day she was picked on April 7, 2023 around 22:00 hours.
Investigations are ongoing, Zambia Police Service Deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale revealed to Kalemba.

Trio abducts, rapes UNZA student
A NINTEEN year old student of the University of Zambia has been left traumatised after she was abducted and raped last night.
According to Zambia Police Service Deputy spokesperson, the victim who was in the company of her friend as they left class within Great East Road campus fell prey to the criminals after they were offered a lift to their boarding house in Mashlands by strangers.
“When they entered the motor vehicle, a Toyota spacio, they noticed that they were three men inside the motor vehicle which immediately sped off until they reached S.O.S in Chazanga area along the Great North Road where her friend managed to jump out of the motor vehicle and immediately alerted the Police,” Mwale narrated Kalemba in a statement.
Mwale said after raping her, the suspects went away with her iPhone and left her in a room at the same lodge.
“She was only assisted by lodge workers to reconnect with her relatives today, April 8, 2023 at around 02:00 hours. She was rushed to the hospital for medical attention,” said Mwale.
