VICE-PRESIDENT Mutale Nalumango says traditional ceremonies should be used as ventures for trade and investiment promotion to ensure economic growth for job and wealth creation.
The vice-president made the call during the Black Tie Dinner galla held to fundraise for the up coming Umutomboko ceremony last evening.
She stressed that taking part in the traditional ceremonies ensured that everyone took a fair share in the country’s economic development journey.
She added that cultural ceremonies were important as they signified the unity of diverce cultural heritage of people.
Nalumango said government had embarked on a national, regional and international crusade to effectively market the nation as a destination ripe for trade.
Speaking at the same event, Midlands Mutomboko Chairperson, Raban Mwaba said this year’s ceremony was special because the Mutomboko ceremony had not taken place since 2018.
Mwaba noted that the ceremony which is scheduled to be held on saturday July 30, 2022 in Kazembe village of Mwansabombwe district reminded Zambians of the rich culture of His Royal Highness Mwata kazembe’s Kingdom.
He added that the ceremony promotes the preservation of the Zambian culture and heritage.
Mwaba said the province’s ability to contribute to the economic development of the Country cannot be understated.
