PF cadres fumes on Innocent Kalimashi in fist of fury at the party secretariat last Saturday

BARELY a day after President Edgar Lungu issued a last warning to Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja over failure to curb political violence, police have today mustered the courage and arrested five PF cadres normally considered untouchable.

The five cadres all aged between 38 and 45 are suspected of being the architects behind the Labour Day panel beating to pulp of self-proclaimed PF National Commander Innocent Kalimanshi.

Police spokesperson Esther Mwaata has in a statement to Kalemba confirmed the arrest of Keith White Musonda, 45; Bright Musonda, 38; Gift Lupiya, 35, Nephter Mulenga and Kelvin Chisanga, all residents of different compounds in Lusaka.

“As Zambia Police, we shall not tolerate any criminal conduct hence anyone who will be found wanting will be dealt with in accordance with the law. What political players need to know is that the law is blind and does not look at any individual political affiliation as no one is above the law,” warned Katongo.
