AFTER more than a year on the run, a cop who killed a cook at City Market Paramilitary Police Camp today terminated his run and came to rest in the police cells.
Sergeant Goodhope Tembo on the fateful February day in 2020 cleaned his Toyota Corolla as he waited for Nshima before going on his social malingering.
However, as Joseph Masiye Tembo,54 the police civilian cook was cutting firewood to strengthen the fire cooking the Nshima, a piece of the firewood flew from his axe and made a dent on Kaoma’s windscreen.
Hungry and bitter, Kaoma blew a lid over his temper and attacked old-aged Zulu instantly knocking him cold before he was rushed to Kanyama Clinic where he died later.
Immediately police learned of the incident, they searched for over a year high and low for their officer so that he could account before court for his action but could not locate him until today when he got fatigued with his run and handed over himself.
Police sources have told #Kalemba that Kaoma is detained at Lusaka Central Police although an official statement is yet to be issued.
