PAYMENT of retrenched Konkola Copper Mines workers which have wetted the appetite of commercial sexual practitioners in Chingola and surrounding Copperbelt Towns will be paid by March month end, the Company has said.
The delayed payments have not only drawn the anger of the protesting Copper Diggers but also the frustration of the ladies of night who have been flocking to the District each time a rumour of the miners being paid filtered through in bid to cash in on the windfall of cash by providing auxillary services to male folk.
In an internal memo, the company has assured that the legal hurdles blocking the payment were over and the parte can begin effective month-end.
