A 28-year-old woman of Damview area in Chipata District who found love messages in her husband’s phone has committed suicide by hanging herself.
Ruth Chisi left a suicide note before hanging herself from a roof using a rope in the dining room.
Eastern Province Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Achiume says the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday.
Achiume stated that Ruth found some love messages in her husband’s phone between December 15 and 16, 2020 but after reconciliation, she decided to end her life.
He said police visited the scene and found the Ruth’s body of hanging from the roof and a suicidal note was found on the dining table.
Police also found a phone which the husband to the victim confirmed it was hers.
Achiume explained that police inspected the body and found that it had a protruding tongue, which are confirmed signs of suicide.
He says police didn’t suspect any foul play.
