ZESCO has announced that for the festive season, households will only experience four-hour long blackouts as it continues to effect loadshedding.
Since June 1, 2019, Zesco while blaming low water levels in the Kariba has demonstrated unrivalled commitment to ensure that none of its clients get 24-hour supply of electricity.
Zambians have had to grapple with upto 15 hours of no electricity supply in a day for the last 18 months or so.
But in a statement yesterday, Zesco announced that from from December 23, 2020 to January 2, 2021 they will reduce loadshedding duration to four hours!
According to the company, this was because of the “expected decrease in demand for electricity during this period due to reduction in industrial activities as most companies will be on break.”
