A 21-YEAR-OLD female nursing student of Chitambo District in Central has been strangled to death by her boyfriend after telling him she was no longer interested in him.
Police spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo has confirmed the death of Mapalo Masiku, a student of Chitambo College of Nursing who was murdered by her lover Mwika Kaluwayo who also committed suicide 18 kilometers away from the crime scene.
Katongo said Mapalo was murdered around 13:00 hours yesterday in a bush near her college.
“Initial investigations indicated that the victim had a misunderstanding with her boyfriend identified as Kaluwayo Mwika who had just completed school at the same College,” Katongo told #Kalemba in a statement.
She explained that after killing her, the killer called a friend to the victim to give direction to where the body was.
“Today, 14th December, 2020 Police received information that the suspect has committed suicide,” revealed Katongo.
