SOCIALIST Party Chawama Constituency parliamentary candidate Ntazana Musukuma says Zambians should register as voters to liberate themselves from suffering.
In a statement this afternoon, Musukuma said getting a voter’s card was not easy given the slow process against the huge crowds but encouraged citizens to endure.
Musukuma explained that he only managed to register around 03:00 this morning at Chawama Primary School, one of the centres running 24 hour-service after two failed attempts.
“There are long queues in Chawama during both day and night times but I’ve managed to get my voter’s card because of endurance,” he stated.
“It’s not easy but I’m happy to have registered and hereby pledge to vote for Dr Fred M’membe and the Socialist Party in support of Justice, Equity and Peace,” he added.
Musukuma urged people of Chawama to endure the “hectic voter registration process” because there is need to change government next year”.
“Don’t complain about the shortfalls of the voter registration process anymore. Just endure. Always remember that you’re in a struggle for a better Zambia and the only available way to realise the revolution is to register as a voter now and vote for revolutionary change in 2021,” said Musukuma.
Musukuma complained about the slow registration process which he described as an ‘avoidable mess’ but said “the suffering masses of Zambia should persevere the hectic long queues to liberate themselves (via the ballot) from mediocre leadership, high cost of living and economic slavery.”
He said he found difficult to understand why the ECZ had decided do away with the old voters’ register.
