FOUR former pupils of Mwense Secondary School have drowned in the Luapula River.
The quartet are said to have been coming from neighboring DR Congo yesterday when a strong wind caused their boat to capsize and spill them in the river.
Bright Chibemba, a cousin to three of the deceased confirmed the deaths of his relatives to Kalemba.
He identified the victims as 30-year-old Hellen Musonda, Chama Geoffrey, 24, Priscilla kabaso, 25 and Kasumba Tracy aged 18.
All were former pupils of Mwense Secondary School in Mwense district of Luapula Province.
Police is yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
