A 60-YEAR-OLD man of Kabwe is nursing severe burns after his wife poured hot water on him for failing to give her money to buy relish.
Zelia Khuwa, of Kaputula Township, is said to have assaulted her husband, Peter Mwanza, last Saturday around 08:00 hours at their home.
Central Police commissioner of police Chola Katanga said yesterday that Nkhuwa has been charged with assault.
“He was burnt with hot water by his wife after he told her he did not have money to buy relish,” Katanga said.
Katanga said Mwanza suffered severe burns on his body and was rushed to Kabwe Central Hospital.
He said Nkhuwa has been detained.
“She is in police custody right now and we are looking at the offence of assault occasioning actual bodily harm,” reports Sunday Mail.
