POLICE have warned that they will deal ruthlessly with Jerbaos who plan to protesting against the arrest of Chingola “lead Jerabo” Kabaso Mulenga aka Spax.

In a statement, Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja said the service was aware
of what he termed “some groupings on the Copperbelt” are planning illegal protest demanding for the release of Spax.

“We want to remind all those behind such plans to reconsider their position or be dealt with ruthlessly by men and women in uniform,” Kanganja warned.

“This Country has got laws which guide on all processions and protests hence any act that is contrary to the provisions of the law shall not be tolerated at any point,” Kanganja stated.

The Police chief reminded all the organisers of the impending protest that going ahead with their planned activity would be unlawful because provisions of the law have not been followed.

“All officers are on high alert and will not tolerate any lawlessness to take root in this Country. Acts of lawlessness that characterised Chingola in the recent past will this time be dealt with a heavy hand and this warning must be taken seriously,” he said.

On Monday, police announced that Spax had been in police detention since February 26 and had been warned and cautioned for murder.

But the police provided no details of who Spax is accused of having murdered or when the crime took place.
