TELECOMMUNICATIONS giant MTN has adopted the Woodlands Stadium and will be in charge of it’s maintenance for the next three years.
The company earned the right, to name, brand and refurbish the stadium after signing a three-year deal with Forli Limited in Lusaka yesterday.
MTN Chief marketing officer Seun Soladoye m said the K1.5 million deal was an affirmation of MTN’s reputation as the number one supporter of the game in Zambia.
“As MTN Zambia, we pledge our continued support to the development of football in the country by providing financial and material support,” Soladoye said.
Forli Limited Chief Executive Officer, Diego Casilli said the deal marked a milestone in the history of the game in Zambia.
“MTN Zambia’s endorsement of the refurbished stadium was greatly appreciated not only by City of Lusaka Football Club but by Forli Limited, who are the developers of the stadium,” Casilli said.
Meanwhile FAZ president Andrew Kamanga praised MTN for its “longstanding partnership with the game in Zambia.”
The FAZ president said MTN had proved an all-weather partner to the game through the sponsorship of the Super League and National Team.
