“Ghost Gassers” strike another school, land 28 girls in hospital

TWENTY-EIGHT female pupils at Meheba B Secondary School in Kalumbila district are admitted to Lumwana District Hospital after “Ghost Gassers” sprayed toxic chemicals in a boarding house they were sleeping.

North-Western Province commissioner of Police Hudson Namachila said in a statement to Zambia Daily Mail yesterday that the incident happened on Wednesday night and that five of the pupils are in a critical condition.

“We have 28 girls who were gassed by unknown people at Meheba B Secondary School, which is a weekly boarding school. Five of them are in a critical condition,” he said.

Namachila said police are investigating the matter but that no arrest has so far been made.

On Tuesday, 17 pupils at Lufwanyama Boarding School got admitted to the district hospital after criminals sprayed an unknown substances in a dormitory they were sleeping in.

A male teacher at one of the school in the district was also found admitted to the hospital after complaining of being sprayed by unknown people.
