A KASEMPA man is reportedly on the run after allegedly hacking to death his 28-year-old wife using an axe on suspicion that she was
having an affair with another man.

Meanwhile, taxi drivers on Thursday afternoon protested at Senior Chief Kasempa’s palace following the killing of their fellow operator
by unknown people believed to be from within the area.

Kasempa District Commissioner Goodson Sansakuwa confirmed the two incidences yesterday.

Sansakuwa said the suspected homicide in Kasempa happened on Friday around 21:00 hours, reports Times of Zambia.

He said the suspect, named as Kelvin Sengelechi, allegedly axed to death his wife, Semu Keliyi, after he accused her of having an extramarital affair.

“I can confirm that a man is on the run after hacking to death his wife with an axe after he accused her of having an extramarital affair
with another man,” he said.

Sansakuwa said the body of the deceased was in Mukinge Mission Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem while a manhunt had been launched for her suspected killer.

On the protest report, Sansakuwa said the taxi drivers protested at Senior Chief Kasempa’s Palace seeking intervention following the killing of their fellow taxi driver.
