MINISTRY of General Education permanent secretary for technical services Jobbicks Kalumba has called for the immediate arrest of director of Super Shine Glory academy of Ndola.
Dr. Kalumba says Blessings Mwale and his nephew Frederick Mulamba must be arrested for swindling 29 Grade 9 pupils out of their examination fees.
Dr. Kalumba said 42 Grade 9 learners entered for the ECZ Examination with Super Shine Glory academy a Grade 1 to 12 school operating illegally in Ndola, reports ZNBC.
He said the pupils were ferried to Kashitu primary school with the help of Mulamba where it was discovered that only 13 learners out of the 42 were registered to write the examinations.
The permanent secretary said government was mobilizing resources to transport the learners back to Ndola and that the affected parents must not panic as the safety and well-being of the pupils was the Ministry’s top priority.
Dr. Kalumba who is in Northern Province to monitor on the ongoing 2019 examinations and the construction of the Zambia Education Enhancement Project-ZEEP warned those operating schools illegally to stop because the law would soon caught up with them.
Meanwhile Kashitu Primary School Head Teachers Kennedy Sichilima said the school administration was not aware of the 42 pupils from that school but only 6 pupils that the officer in question asked for with pretext that the pupils were orphans.
The learners are currently in the custody of the school and were expected to be taken back to their families soon.
