PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema asserts that the government will persist in implementing measures to address the Cholera situation, with a specific focus on Lusaka.
“We reiterate the plea for our citizens to comply with the health guidelines provided by competent health authorities,” he shared on his Facebook page.
“The collective effort is crucial in overcoming cholera. Our call to action is to take measures to prevent contracting the disease.”
Yesterday the Ministry of health announced that seven more districts from different provinces including, Mufurila, Kitwe, Chililabombwe, Chisamba, Mkushi, Sibuyunji and Nyimba districts recorded Cholera cases.
As at yesterday the number of deaths rose to 23, which is the highest number of Cholera related mortalities since the outbreak in October.
Furthermore 342 new recorded in the past 24 hours while 579 victims were still admitted in various health facilities.
Since the outbreak in October last year, the outbreak has claimed at least 150 lives with 4,097 recorded cases countrywide.
