A LUSAKA-based youth says the Ministry of Health’s mismanaging of resources is destroying donor confidence in the country.

Dillon Mayangwa has asked President Edgar Lungu to act swiftly and fire health minister Chitalu Chilufya.

Mayangwa who is also a businessman said corruption was the worst cancer affecting poor Zambians who would not afford the health care system.

He said it was not honourable for Chilufya to sanction the distribution of defective condoms and drugs when he had power to stop it.

Mayangwa said Ministry of Health and Honey Bee scandal had put Zambians at risk of developing complications that would cost the country.

“The rot happening in our country is sickening to say the least, it’s painful and heartbreaking to even think such scandals are happening right under the nose of someone we call Honorable, it’s so shameful. There is nothing honourable happening at that Ministry of Health right now. We need to find a better term to refer to that minister incharge [Dr Chitalu Chilufya],” he said.

He said it was painful that people who have been decorated with honour were not morally upright.

He said President Lungu must demand excellence from his ministers who were putting the lives of people at risk.

“Imagine calling someone His Excellency, Your Excellency who isn’t demanding Excellence from his deputies to hear him say he can’t fire his Minister because of pressure,” he said.

“This is a scandal, it’s criminal, it’s evil, its satanic its worse than the offence you fired the most sober minister you had in your cabinet who was touching himself. But this is touching all of us. It has the capability of destroying dreams, ending lives and destroying homes,” he said.

“Honestly, how can one ignore the condoms been defective not only ignoring but allow them to still be on the market…come to think of it these are the some condoms they passionately  supply to higher leaning institutions. Apart from students trusting those condoms to clean their laptops students actually trust those condoms to protect them against Pregnancies HIV and STI now let’s try to think of the damage they might have coursed to our youths. It’s such a relief to know MoH never supply morning after pills imagine the babies that would be born in colleges and universities.”

And Mayangwa noted that the most painful thing Zambians were going through was the quietness of the President on the scandal.

The lives of Zambians are in danger due to the corruption of the very people they have entrusted to take care of them.

“May this open up youths to come to their senses  that there is nothing good about the PF leadership, they showed us they  don’t care about  education by scraping off the meal allowance and denying you bursaries Now they showing you they don’t even care about your health your lives and your dreams. Zambian youths what more do you want to see before you stand and and say enough is enough? Asked Mayangwa.
