THE MEDICAL fraternity is mourning the death of 23-year-old Dr Abigail Mulenga from Kabwe General Hospital.

Dr Mulenga fell ill on Friday, was transferred to UTH for treatment on Sunday and she died last evening.

Resident Doctors Association of Zambia announced Dr Mulenga’s death on their Facebook page last evening.

She was a junior doctor at Kabwe General Hospital and had only been there for two months prior to her death.

When contacted for a comment, Medical Association of Zambia (ZMA) general secretary Dr Masiku Phiri described Dr Mulenga’s death as a “great loss”.

“This is a great loss to the medical fraternity especially in the midst of the war against COVID-19 when we needed the effort of every soldier,” Dr Phiri said.

Dr Phiri said ZMA would conduct a full profession service for “the fallen soldier”.

And in a brief message on its Facebook page, the Resident Doctors Association of Zambia Dr Mulenga’s passion and dedication to serving the people of Kabwe was a marvel.

Definitely believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason seemed to be on the net the simplest thing to be aware
of. I say to you, I definitely get irked while people think about worries that they plainly do not know about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side-effects
, people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more.
    Thanks
