A KITWE mother of three has delivered quadruplets bringing the number of her children to seven.
Elizabeth Gondwe aged 32 of Kitwe’s Mindolo E Township delivered three boys and one girl in the Kitwe Teaching Hospital last Thursday.
According to Kitwe Teaching Hospital Head of Pediatrics Mate Mwambazi, the children who weighed between 800 and 900 grams were stable and feeding well.
Dr. Mwambazi said the quadruplets were transferred from the labour ward to the neo-natal ward immediately they were born.
Elizabeth Gondwe said she was happy that her children were fine but pointed out that it would not be easy for her and her husband to take care of them as they were already struggling to look after their other children.
She said her husband wished to raise children in a healthy home.
According to a statement issued by the public relations officer Phoebe Chileya, Elizabeth has appealed to well-wishers to assist her financially or materially.
