A POLICE officer in Kawambwa has denied accusations that he defiled an underage girl who had gone to his station to report an assault case.
Constable Ramsey Nkosha of Kawambwa Police Station is said to have demanded to have sex with a victim of an assault case as a condition of to arrest her attackers.
The said girl then became pregnant, dropped out of school and is now in the cold with month-old baby after Nkosha abandoned her.
But Nkosha said the narrative was far from the truth because he had not fled but merely redeployed in another place for duties.
He told #Kalemba that the two were lovers and she was not underage as reported.
“Yes, to start with, the girl is 19 years old and I knew her last year. She was not in school. I dated the very girl just for three months after knowing each other,” Nkosha explained.
“She told me that she is a double orphan and during our relationship she decided to visit her family in Lusaka last July. It was during that month when she was in Lusaka she told me that am pregnant. I advised her to keep the pregnancy,” Nkosha added.
He said on her return to Kawambwa last August,
the issue of her pregnancy was discussed between him and her family.
“Later, in the month April 2020 she delivered the baby boy and I did everything that a man can do that period. However, during the same month, I was given some duties to do along Kawambwa-Mporokoso road guarding materials for a tarmac and I went there. Before I could go, I told her that am going but she never understood. Whilst in the bush along the said road for almost a month now, I just received information that the very girl went to report me to our Chief Munkanta because she thought I have gone for good,” Nkosha explained.
He said the biggest problem was child support which he was willing to continue rendering.
Nkosha said the matter had been brought to attention of his supervisors at work and already sorted out but was surprised to see in the media.
