EIGHT footballers of Kazungula have sustained serious injuries after a Nissan Hard Body which they were travelling in overturned whilst on their way to play a march in Katombora on Sunday.
The accident happened yesterday around 14:30 hours along Nakatindi Road, about 3 kilometres from Kazungula Secondary School.
Police spokesperson Esther Katongo, in a statement, said the accident happened when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed and eventually overturned.
“On board were footballers travelling from Kazungula to play a march at Katombora area and in the process, eight passengers were seriously injured,” Katongo said.
Katongo said all the victims sustained head injuries and bruises on their bodies and all are admitted at Livingstone Central Hospital.
