AFTER having faced a setback in getting bail, Lumezi constituency member of parliament Munir Zulu and opposition preacher Dan Pule yesterday managed to secure their release pending trial for their alleged ethnic rhetoric.
The duo is charged with sedition before the Lusaka magistrates court.
Munir and Pule were admitted to bail by the Court in their own recognizance.
Magistrate Hamaundu granted Zulu bail in the sum of K250, 000 in his own recognizance on a condition that he provides two working sureties from reputable organizations who have been bound on similar conditions and that he should surrender his diplomatic passport.
Witnesses are scheduled to testify in his case on June 17.
Pule on the other hand was granted bail by principal resident magistrate Sylvia Munyinya in the tune of K150, 000 in his own recognizance.
The court ordered him to provide two working sureties from reputable organizations who should be residents of Lusaka and have been bound on similar conditions.
Pule will also have to surrender his diplomatic passport.
