PERPETUAL litigant John Sangwa yesterday ignited a new court battle in his bid to bar President Edgar Lungu from contesting the 12 August, 2021 General Elections.

In the latest action, Sangwa has in the Constitutional Court petitioned the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to include in the affidavit signed by all presidential candidates a sentence which reads “I have not twice held office as President”.

In the ongoing political chess battle, Sangwa who is a Constitutional lawyer has been relentless in his call for Lungu to be barred from standing arguing that he has held office twice.
