A FRUSTRATED citizen of Luanshya who chose to vent his anger on Millennium Radio’s call-in programme will have a chance to vote in the coming elections from the comfort of his congested prison cell.
Fred Mwanya, on March 28, 2019 called Millennium Radio which is owned by Richard Sakala of the Daily Nation Newspaper and in expressing his frustration with the economy insulted President Edgar Lungu.
However, when he was tracked and nabbed inside the wall fence of Luanshya on the Copperbelt, Mwanya claimed that someone must have used his phone.
The court dismissed this excuse and condemned him to three years in jail with hard labour for defamation of the President.
