A 16-YEAR-OLD girl of Matero Township in Lusaka District told a packed Matero Court Room that Steven Banda, 25 was the first person to have a bite at her apple.
In this case, Philip Zulu, 42 sued Banda for deflowering and impregnating his daughter Rosemary.
However, despite Zulu being unhappy with Banda for fertilising his Grade 8 daughter’s ovaries; Rosemary contradicted her father’s testimony that Banda was irresponsible.
Rosemary spoke warmly of her Baby Daddy and ‘first love’ saying he was supportive of his child as he sent her Airtel money once in a while.
Energised by his baby mama’s testimony, Banda went on to accuse Zulu of insulting him every time he called hence his failure to see his child and appear for discussions over damage.
After hearing all parties, the court slashed Zulu K15,000 claim and instead ordered Banda to pay K13,000 with a first installment of K1000 to be followed by monthly installments of K400.
