A 42-YEAR-OLD man of Kampasa village has admitted to molesting an 11-year-old girl before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court.
David Chanda, who pleaded guilty to a charge of indecent assault on females, before magistrate Alice Walusiku, said that he touched the victim’s breast whilst under the influence of alcohol.
In this matter, Chanda is charged with two counts of indecent assault on females.
It is alleged that the accused unlawfully and indecently assaulted two girls aged 11 years and 10 years, in Lusaka this year.
During plea, magistrate Walusiku asked if he unlawfully and indecently touched the girl’s body, to which he responded in the affirmative.
Asked where he touched the juvenile, Chanda said ” I touched her on her breasts”.
When asked if the victim allowed him to touch her breasts, Chanda denied.
Magistrate Walusiku asked about the relationship between him and the 11 year old, Chanda said she was his neighbour and that he was intoxicated when he molested her.
Chanda also admitted to have indecently assaulted a 10-year-old girl.
But when asked where he touched the victim, Chanda explained that he touched her on her shoulder.
Magistrate Walusiku asked the accused of his intention to which he said he did not do anything to her.
Magistrate Walusiku recorded a plea of not guilty in the second count.
The matter comes up on December 10 for facts and sentencing in the first count and mention in the second count.
