…Introspection time with JBM

I ALMOST gave up on my dream and pursuant of a certain assignment I needed to complete by the end of day.

The main reason to almost quitting was due to some huddles faced with the software I was using, and there seemed to be no one to help me around.

The frustration mounted up as I tried but in vain to make it right. What compounded the whole scenario was reality of losing all the data I had saved on a previous day, there by affecting the whole plan to complete the exercise.

I decided to make another attempt by engaging other experts who finally came to my aid and the work got completed. The sigh of relief and feeling of positive achievement was unexplainable.

As I pondered through the experience, the concept of ‘fighting on” dawned on my mind. Evaluating the various experiences I have had, I had to ask myself a rare question, ‘how many opportunities have I ever lost in life simply because I could not fight on but rather gave up easily? ’.

This article is aimed at drawing some life’s lessons on the secret that lies behind the attitude of fighting-on.
Reality is that the antidote to success and progress in life is NOT embedded in giving up easily, but rather in the attitude of “fighting-on”.

Have you ever asked yourself a question as to where you would have been by now, or what you would have achieved or accomplished in life by now, had it not been the easy choice of giving up?

No matter what obstacles, ridicule, shame or discouragement you face in life, the principle of life is that when you resolve to fight-on, none of such would surpass the joy, the happiness and sense of great achievement that comes when the battle is over.

To that student who has failed certain courses and feels discouraged; Or finds certain courses too complex to comprehend; To that entrepreneur who has invested so much in their venture and do not seem to breakeven; To that parent who has done all they could to support a child hooked on drugs and alcohol; To that couple who feels like giving up on their marriage; Remember an attitude of fighting-on will always lead to great achievement.

As the common adage goes…’winners never quit and quitters never win’.

It takes tenacity and an inner resolve and determination to push beyond the comfort zone and get your ‘diamonds’. Nothing will come easy until you fortify yourself with an attitude of fighting-on.

The said attitude spurs you into frontiers of opportunities you never knew existed and awaited you. Fight-on, because this challenges your faith into the unknown while believing that God has your back and He will see you through. He is an enabler God when you least expect.

Fight-on because you are stronger than you realize, and a sure way of weeding off perpetual retrogression in your life. Remember, the route of easily giving up when things get tough is an enemy of progress.

“Sometimes, life will kick you around, but sooner or later, you realize you’re not just a survivor. You’re a warrior, and you’re stronger than anything life throws your way.” ~Brooke Davis

Whatever your current situation, believe that God who is concerned with every little detail of your life and He is Great in that battle, THEREFORE Just fight on!
